This is a life saver on my skin right now, so rich and hydrating! The snow in Glasgow has been taking it out of my skin, so much in need of a moisturiser to do all of those things. Works a treat. I love!

The winter months can be brutal on your skin, causing it to be dry and dull looking with all the different elements in the air so I want to give you guys some advice on how to keep your skin in tip top condition!

I know that for myself, my skin can get really dry and sensitive in the weather because it’s losing moisture and my usual skin care routine just doesn’t seem to tackle those dry areas. What I need in this weather is a thicker moisturizer! Here are some of my favs for dry skin!

When selecting a moisturizer to soothe dry skin, look for products that contain lactic acid or urea. These help tackle mega dry skin! Also look out for products with vitamin b in them!

For oily skin, avoid using strong toners, stick to mild toners that don’t contain alcohol in them so you can make the most of what it can do for you. Look out for moisturizers with Vitamin E in them.

Those of you that have oily/combination skin, I would try look out for oil free creams. You might have to use several different products, for example oil products on your T Zone but creams for the drier areas.

& no matter what type of skin you have, just try to give your skin routine that little bit more TLC so you are looking after your skin the way it deserves!

These products don’t need to be expensive to be effective. Just because a moisturizer is high in price doesn’t necessarily mean it will work better, I’ve tried some expensive creams out there that are rubbish! Just look at the ingredients and think of what your skin needs!

RAN OUT OF AN EXFOLIATOR? SKIN REALLY FLAKEY?

Okay, so exfoliators help take away all those dead skin cells and leave our skin flake free, so what could we use if we run out or as an alternative? SUGAR! Just take a little bit of sugar, rub it into your skin and wash off, those dead skin cells should be washed away and your skin should be flakeless!

SOME OF YOU MAY SUFFER WITH ACNE AND SPOTS, WHAT COULD HELP PREVENT THIS?

There are loads of products out there for spots and acne that costs up a fortune but what could we use if we didn’t have the money to spend? YOGURT! You guys probably think by this point I have gone nuts but honestly yogurt will help! Yogurt contains lactic acid which helps prevent break outs and helps with acne! Of course, do be sensible with this, I don’t mean chocolate or strawberry yogurt, I mean the fresh yogurt!

RAN OUT OF CONDITIONER AND YOUR HAIR FEELS DRY?

This is one of my pet hates, I have really long hair and always need to use a conditioner, so when I run out, it is a nightmare and there is no way I can go without! What to use or do? EGGS! Yes, eggs! If you take the yolk of an egg, rub it into your hair and leave for about 5-10 minutes then wash off. It leaves the hair so glossy, honestly really is amazing.

OH OH, RAN OUT OF SHAVING CREME/FOAM?

Again, another one of my pet hates, especially when you need to be looking your best, this is a nightmare. What could we use that will condition our skin and let us shave? CONDITIONER OFCOURSE!It shaves in the exact same way, maybe even better I would say, leaving the skin soft and definitely, conditioned!

SKIN IS LOOKING DULL, NO FACE MASKS?

For those days you just want to give your skin a little treat and give it a little bit of life back but we have no face masks? SOUR CREAM! I know, how cheesy (oh ho ho) but this really does work. Sour Cream, like yogurt has lactic acid, which helps breakouts and gives a glow to a dull complexion!

So these are just of the things that popped into my mind and I thought I would share them with all of you all to maybe give a little try or perhaps you guys do the exact same OR maybe some of yous will even be thinking I’m going crazy! Oh well, give them a little try if the day so happens that you run out of anything of the above!

Facial Skin Care

FACIAL SKIN CARE AND THE IMPORTANCE!

It is extremely to take care of your skin and make sure we are giving it the correct oils and moisture it needs.

It is SO important that you look after your skin, no matter what age you are, you will never be too young to start taking care of your skin. If you get yourself into a daily skin routine, you will more than likely be sorted for all your years! My gran always told me from a young age that it was important to look after your skin and since then, I haven’t even thought about it, I just do it like you would drink water or eat daily.

I’m guessing all of you, if not most, know what skin types you are (If not, let me know a little bit of information about your facial skin and I will try my best to advise you).

It is equally important to have the correct moisturiser for your skin. For me, I have really dry skin and when I do not use the correct moisturiser for my skin type, my skin looks dry, dull and lifeless. So, you should always make sure you are buying the correct moisturiser for your skin, it doesn’t have to be expensive, remember, just something that will help make the most out of your skin.

No matter wheather your skin type is dry, oily or sensitive, you should never skip moisturizing, you may not notice any change with your skin for weeks, months or even years (if you are lucky) but eventually, the lack of care will catch up with your skin and may even in time show in ways of aging and wrinkles ( BUT MOST OF YOU GUYS ARE YOUNG, SO DO NOT WORRY, WE WILL BE FINE IF WE PAY ATTENTION!!)

There are so many skin care lines out there that are specialist in all the different skin types. If you want anymore information, just drop me a message via this page!

Hope this helps and happy moisturising! :)

Okay, so we all have those days where we feel our makeup just isn’t happening and no matter what you do, even when it is the same routine you always do, it just doesn’t look right! They can make you feel down and ruin your day, SO, we should all try keep them to a minimum by doing the following things each day and night!

ALWAYS CLEANSE YOUR SKIN

It is so important to cleanse your skin because this will take away ALL the dead skin cells, grime and dirt that gathers on your face as you go about your daily routine. There are many cleansers out there that are good for removing everything from your skin and making it lovely and soft.

THE CLEANSER I USE

LIZ EARLE CLEANSE & POLISH

This is amazing for me as I have really sensitive skin and alot of cleansers out there can irritate it really easily. This though, is full of natural ingredients such as chamomile and eucalypyus essential oil.

IF YOU FEEL THE NEED, USE A SKIN TONER

Toners help tighten your pores and clean all the stuff your cleanser may not have got off. It gives your skin a refreshed look.

THE SKIN TONER I USE

LIZ EARLE INSTANT BOOST SKIN TONIC

(Tonic is just a stronger skin toner)

I use this after I have cleansed my face. It just helps give it a refreshed, healthy look. It is amazing for dry skin as it contains Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Rose Scented Geranium.

USE A MOISTURISER SUITED FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE

This is the most important. You need to use a moisturiser suitable for your skin type. This will help make the most of your skin and keep it full of oils that you need.

MOISTURISER I USE

This is amazing for dry skin. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft and for such a rich cream, it soaks into my skin perfectly.

THEN YOU ARE READY FOR YOUR MAKEUP!

IF WE FOLLOW THE SAME ROUTINE EVERDAY, WE WILL HAVE LESS AND LESS DAY MAKEUP DAYS!
